The Fascinating Nairobi City, Kenya!

NAIROBI is a pretty awesome city, not only because of its national parks but because of the dynamic lifestyle of the Kenyans,
the tasty East African cuisine and the highly talked about clubbing and night life scene.
Like any other metropolitan city, Nairobi is well accommodated with a good transport service, street markets and local restaurants and fantastic tourist attraction just to name a few.
Handmade baskets at a masai market in Nairobi Kenya are plenty.
Brightly colored handmade baskets at the masai market.
The Massai Market located in Central Nairobi houses all the finest handmade souvenirs
and is the perfect location for discovering and marveling at breath-taking artwork which has been locally produced.
You will be amazed by the beautiful display of work and spoiled for choice too. Be prepared to haggle if you decide to buy any items in the market.
Also, if you’re into fine art and want an experience that’s a bit more formal then maybe you could have a gander around African Heritage House, or for a completely different experience head down to Matbronze Foundry.
At this place you can see the craftsmen up close and personal, building extra ordinary bronze sculptures which are often commissioned by international businesses that are ready to pay a very high price for the art work.
Drink Kenyan Coffee!
With Kenya being one of the largest producers of coffee, it would be a shame not to get a taste of the vibrant coffee culture.
Kenyans love coffee and it is an essential drink to have.
To ensure you get your share of quality Kenyan coffee, make sure you stop at Art Caffe and Java Coffee House.
Enjoy Nairobi Nyama Choma-Meat with onions and tomatoes!
Mouthwatering nyama choma. Local Kenyan food is world class and finger licking good.
Nyama choma, (barberqued meat) has to be the most popular delicacy in the city and can be found in almost every food kitchen in town.
People usually choose from beef and chicken and at times, goat meat is widely available too.
The assortment of spices used to season nyama choma makes it a mouth-watering delicious meal to eat.
Most Kenyan dishes contain staple carbohydrates such as rice and potatoes, meat and plenty of vegetables to go with it.
Also, a significant amount of the Kenyan population are vegetarians meaning that there are a wide range of meal options to choose from such as matoke, which is a dish made from plantains cooked in a saucepan with onions, tomatoes, lemon juice, oil and spices, until it turns into a thick sauce.
There are also options of vegetable stews, mandazi (a sweet flatbread) and ndengu, a thick porridge made from beans.
Residents making the most of Kibera slums are very poor Kenyans.
This is not usually considered as a tourist attraction, neither is it a place people are really drawn to, However, it is highly fascinating and interesting to explore due to the fact that it is the biggest slum in Africa and one of the top three in the entire world. That alone is enough to make anyone curious about the Kibera slums.
Gain a new perspective of life by interacting with the locals and find out what it’s like to be a hustler in this part of the country.
I recommend that you don’t visit Kibera on your own but if you’re interested, go with a tour guide or a group!
Nairobi’s national parks are like no other and they are one of Kenya’s biggest attraction.
You are given the opportunity to watch wildlife animals in their natural habitat and you even have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of them.
January to March is the best time to visit Kenyan national parks because that’s when the weather is hotter and dryer.
Make sure that you bring with you, a pair of binoculars, a hat, sunscreen and some water to drink.
